Red Hot

It’s the colour of the carpet trodden by celebrities the world over and  in amongst a sea of little black dresses, it stands out with a head turning, siren-esque quality all of it’s own.

For Autumn/Winter 2010 there are any number of ways to interpret this scarlet sensation trend. Add a red hot pop of colour with an accessory, warm up your work wear with a simple red jersey dress or go all out head-to-toe red for evening – a look perfect for the forthcoming party season.

Here at Upper Street we have two red rules of our own! We love a slick of classic red lipstick to add glamour to any look and of course, we’re die hard fans of that most covetable hue for shoes – the infamous red shoes.

As children, they were a symbol of magic; the pair from the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale, The Red Shoes, in which the peasant girl was forced to dance forever or the sparkling heels that Dorothy clicked together three times to return home to Kansas from Oz.
