Upper Street Trends – Summer Whites

For our third and final shoe trend update we’re tackling a subject previously known for making most stylish women break out in a rash – white shoes! If you thought this was a no no for fear of association with The Dreaded White Stiletto stigma then look no further than the SS12 catwalks from the likes of DVF, Nina Ricci and The Row to see white everywhere.
The uber cool Olsen twins’ SS12 collection was primarily white and who can forget Kate Moss stepping off that Louis Vuitton carousel in a dress that dreams are made of… and white heels!
Take a look at some of our favourite designs that changed our minds about heels in this perennial summer hue…

White snakeskin round toe court, White leather platform sandal
For a touch of summer luxe add tan and camel to your white heels – we’re coveting these white snakeskin round toe courts with their camel leather toe cap and sprinkling of studs on the counter back. A simple platform sandal looks like it’s stepped straight off the catwalk when you add in buttery camel leather platform and heel detail.

White patent peep toe brogue, White satin platform peep toe
For a subtle statement, try out a brogue design – these white patent and tan leather peep toes would be perfect for taking you from the office to the cocktail bar. For day long comfort, a lower 1.5″ heel is available at the checkout stage. Mix your summer whites with metallics and finish off your look with these oh so elegant white Italian satin peep toe platforms with a subtle metallic accent.

White tan leather ballet flat, White snakeskin pointed court
This beautifully classic ballet flat in white and tan leather with a small bow and matching trim would elongate any tanned leg this summer and screams pure Hampton’s chic. Every fashion savvy girl knows that a metallic toe cap on a sexy pointed court is the shoe of the season and we’re lusting after this glamorous white snakeskin pointed court with a dazzling silver metallic toe cap and Swarovski diamante embellished ankle strap.
Whether you want to design a simple heel that will add a finishing touch of class to a crisp white trouser suit or a Carrie Bradshaw-esque statement shoe perfect for wearing with SS12 pastels, visit our shoe design studio now and be brave with the white stuff!

Upper Street Trends – Colour Block

Welcome to the second in our series of Upper Street Trend posts; this time it’s the turn of a fashion favourite that seems to have become something of a perma-trend – colour block. Taking colourful contrasts and blocking them together beautifully was a catwalk must do for SS12 designers such as Roksanda Illincic, Balenciaga and Matthew Williamson.
Celebrate Spring / Summer 2012 in shades of tangerine, hot pink, yellow and rich cobalt blues. Experiment with brights for your shoes and step out into the sun ready to tread the path of the fashion forword in a pair of ultra stylish heels.

Pink satin D’Orsay peep toe, Cobalt suede pointed court
Show off your summer bright pedicure in these shocking pink Italian satin peep toes adorned with an ultra purple satin flower – the only decision you have left to make is which colour to paint your toes! Add zingy flashes of yellow snake and patent leather to an elegant cobalt pointed court for an instant statement shoe guaranteed to turn heads.

Green suede round toe court, Pink tangerine clash platform
Colour block from head to toe by wearing a dress in zesty orange or hot pink and then finish off with these elegant vivid green suede round toe courts with an emerald metallic ankle strap that’s been sprinkled with Swarovski diamante. Be a colourful wedding guest and colour block your heels with a pair of eye popping peep toe platforms in fuchsia leather and tangerine snake – Upper Street shoes are always a talking point at weddings!

Turquoise suede platform sandal, Yellow leather heart ballet flat
Conquer two trends in one with these turquoise suede platform sandals with a metallic gold snakeskin heel and dainty single gilda ankle strap. Colour block trend? Tick. Metallics? Tick! With our bespoke ballet flats there are many ways to design with blocks of gorgeous colour and we love this citrus yellow leather ballet flat with it’s contrasting tangerine patent and leather heart.

Upper Street Trends – Pretty Pastels

If you have a tendency towards a sweet tooth then one of the biggest trends for SS12 is sure to appeal – Pretty Pastels. Fondant pinks, minty greens and sugary yellows made for mouthwatering catwalks at Mulberry, PPQ, House of Holland and Louis Vuitton. With sunny days hopefully here to stay, what better way to step out than in candy floss colours?
Bring a touch of ice-cream cool to your feet this season and design a pair of bespoke Upper Street heels in any of our perfect pastel shades and extensive range of materials. Choose your favourite sorbet shade or be bold and mix and colour block – the choice is yours.

Eau satin round toe court, Blush satin platform peep toe
Baby blue is the perfect shade to dip into the pretty pastel trend – we love this simple round toe court design in Eau Italian satin embellished with a sea blue flower. Try a similar design in a pointed court or a peep toe with a Mary Jane strap. If you’re more of a pretty in pink girl then why not design a heel in Blush and Bridal Italian satin with a structured bow detail – a lower 3.5″ heel and 0.25″ platform are available to select at the checkout.

Lemon satin T-bar sandal, Coral satin bow sandal
These Lemon yellow satin T-bar sandals are anything but mellow when you add a sprinkling of Swarovski crystals - the perfect shoe to add sparkle to your summer days. A sandal in a delicate shade of Coral satin with an elegant bow and an embellished strap would see you through every social event of the season, whilst still giving a nod to the trend.

Violet snakeskin pointed court, Vanilla satin ballet flat
Look to a richer pastel shade such as Violet for inspiration and design a sexy heel such as this snakeskin pointed court – for that extra wear-ability factor, opt for for a 2.5″ kitten heel at checkout stage. Or treat your feet to an elegant ballet flat in Vanilla satin with white gold leather small bow and piping – add in a Swarovski gem cluster at the front for a luxurious touch.

Salmon pink two tone snakeskin ballet flat, Yellow two tone snakeskin pointed court
And last, but by no means least, don’t forget about our Limited Edition Snakeskin in ice-cream parlour inspired shades of salmon pink and yellow. Try a salmon pink two tone snakeskin ballet flat with black leather bow and trim or toughen up your pastel yellow in the form of this yellow two tone snakeskin pointed court with a contrasting black snakeskin toe cap. These gorgeous colours are only available until August 2012 so don’t delay if you want to indulge in pastels the Limited Edition way!
For tips and advice on designing with pastels, read our “Pretty Pastels” design guide and then have a go at creating your own your candy coloured SS12 bespoke design.
