Now that we can finally pack away our winter layers for a few months, thoughts are turning to the long summer days ahead – sipping Pimms on the lawn, getting dressed up and celebrating good times with friends.

Possibly the biggest high society social event of them all, the Royal Wedding, has left us with a serious hankering for dressing up in our finest outfits and heels. Here at Upper Street, we watched the proceedings with eyes firmly focused feetwards and loved all the nude shoes that walked the red carpet at Westminster Abbey. Pointed courts, platforms and peep toes in all shades from biscuit to blush seemed to be the order of the day. Here are a few favourite designs in our gorgeous nude patent that we’d have worn had we been invited to the wedding of the century.

Now that the Royal Wedding is over, we feel like we need something to look forward to in the coming months. Such thoughts led us to wish we had a list of perfect excuses that required a new pair of bespoke Upper Street heels for every important event. Gold Award – Turquoise Beauty by Katarzyna Zbrojkiewicz

Inspired by a classy and elegant woman by a turquoise Maltese Blue Lagoon, this design cleverly picks up both pop-colour and neutral trends. Katarzyna’s beautiful shoe design will be made for her, and we’ll featuring her on our blog soon.

Silver award – Crime Scene 2.0 by Alieke Wieldersby

This intriguingly named shoe was inspired by CSI: Miami is a real eye-popper, and bang on-trend with the vibrant citrus colours. Alieke wins a £150 Upper Street voucher, and a book on how to be Fabulous In High Heels.

Bronze award – Summmer Sunset by Zoi Kountouri

Zoi’s inspiration was a love story on a warm summer evening by the Mediterranean. An inspired combination of pop colour, citrus and floral trends. A £100 Upper Street voucher is on it’s way to Zoi.

Hundreds of you sent in your beautiful shoe designs, we shortlisted them to our Top 12, and over a thousand of you cast your vote in this season’s Golden Shoe Awards.
